Marcus Camby is back in New York City after being traded from the Houston Rockets to the New York Knicks.
According to Yahoo Sports Camby was traded
“to the New York Knicks for guard Toney Douglas, centers Josh Harrelson and Jerome Jordan and future second-round picks.” In this sign and trade with Houston, “Camby’s deal was for three years and $13.2 million.”
This is actually Camby’s second time playing for the Knicks, as he was the mainstay in defense between 1998-2002. The 38 year old lanky center returns as an effective backup for 2012’s defensive player of the year, Tyson Chandler.
Before the sign and trade was completed, Camby was actually considering other teams such as the Celtics, Heat, Spurs, Mavericks and Rockets.
Marcus Camby was the #2 draft pick in the 1996 draft and in his 16 years in the league he has proven himself to be one of the better shot blockers and rebounders in the league. Do not let the age fool you, this former Defensive Player of the year can still get it done.
